What is & why

We started Stêrk Project because Kurdish clothes only came out at events, and at Newroz.

A t-shirt goes where we go. It gets worn every day. It gets seen in a queue, on a bus, in a city that isn’t ours.

So we put the things we were known for - the poems, the mountains, the teahouses, the legacies - on clothes people actually wear.

It’s for the ones who grew up between two places, speaking one language at home and another outside. And for the ones who never had to explain where they’re from.

We care about the parts nobody photographs - fabric with weight to it, prints that survive the wash, cuts that actually fit.
